How did we meet?
Simply…we met on a search and rescue team we had both joined. Need to know more? Keep reading.
By way of some conniving and scheming on behalf of our search and rescue team’s chief over a period of 3 years we finally got together. Most people who knew both of us exclaimed, “Finally! I can’t believe it took you two so long!” Things moved quickly after we gave in to the stars, karma, or whatever. We dated only four months before running off and getting married. That was in 2004. We couldn’t be happier. The whole soul mate thing, it really exists.
Before “Us”
John has one daughter, grown. I have a daughter and son, both grown and seven grandchildren between us. We each have one ex-spouse.
Dreams Coming True
After 5 years of planning, selling everything that wouldn’t fit in the 40-foot RV we purchased, we are finally on the road and having the time of our lives. Yes, we still have to work, seeing that we both “retired” early from the 9-5 workforce, but that’s okay. We are meeting AMAZING people doing the same thing we are: working to support our dream while living our dream.
What do we do in our spare time?
If we aren’t working, we generally are out rockhounding. John has built himself a small business selling the rocks we find. John, also spends time working on our “house-on-wheels” just as much, it seems, as he did on our sticks and bricks house.
I enjoy crocheting, knitting, building puzzles, movie watching, and of course reading.
We both enjoy meeting people in the campgrounds, hiking site seeing and just enjoying life.
Where did we get the name “2dogsbarkin”
When we started Geocaching we needed to come up with a team name. After a lot of spent brain cells, John came up with the winning name. He said that it was a bit of inspiration from the movie Blazing Saddles, and the barking coming from the dog run…hmm. We no longer Geocache but the name has stuck.
