We are at the point with John’s mom (Peggy), that none of us kids feel good about leaving her alone with only Verne to care for her. Jul, John’s sister, has agreed to stay with mom on Sundays so that John and I can take a much needed break from being caregivers.
Today we are joining a group of our friends for a ride to Welsboro to visit Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon.
I don’t have any pictures from the actual ride because—well, I’m just shy of terrified to move when we are riding and taking pictures is the last thing on my mind.
The ride from Selinsgrove to Welsboro is about two hours. Though this bike is bigger and more comfortable, I still have a little seat and I’m guessing my bottom is going to be a bit sore by the time this ride is done. There are people on the ride I don’t know but Andy and Candy, Matt and Jen, and Mark are part of our regular group of friends.
Based on the number of bikes here today, we are not the only ones thinking this is a good day for a ride.
Look at the pretty copper-orange one. It goes great with my hair. Ugh, my helmet hair. I need to start carrying a hat on these rides. You can see some of the other people who are on the ride with us in the background.
On the ride up the fall colors were pretty even though they are not at their peak just yet. Here at the canyon the orange, yellow, and reds combined with the still green trees makes for a patchwork view.
All this walking around is good. My legs got a little stiff on the ride and my behind is happy not to be sitting.
We are all getting a little hungry so finding a restaurant is going to be next on our list.
That means my fat bottom needs to get back on that teeny weeny seat again.
Yeah, John’s going to be getting me a bigger seat if we are going to be taking long rides. Ouch.
