We’ve visited this Bavarian-themed town once before The great food, beer and fun atmosphere has brought us back on our way to Atlanta, Georgia. Look, John met some friends already.
The decorations along the street are very unique. My favorite its the little tree house village with walkways between the trees.
Having been to Germany, we now recognized some the architectural features like the arm and hook above the windows. In Germany, the stairways and hallways are very narrow in buildings so they lift the furniture from the street and bring it in through the windows. Having brought a refrigerator and a washer/dryer in through our window, we understand.
These little patio alleys remind us of the old section of Düsseldorf. There are always fun treats and surprises. We found a hidden wine shop and café down this side street.
The sidewalks in Helen are much easier to walk on than the actual cobblestone walks we encountered in Germany, Colon, and Amsterdam.
I don’t remember seeing horse-drawn carriages in Germany.
We’ve drank our beer, enjoyed some authentic German food, listened to some music and had some ice cream for desert.
Now it is back to work time. *sigh*
