Well, we are homeless for the day. The RV is staged and ready to go into the garage to have it’s oil pan replaced.

For us, it’s time to go adventuring. We are heading to Red Lodge, MT and the Beartooth Pass. Red Lodge is a quaint area that we want to explore more thoroughly some time. But not today.

We plug our destination into the GPS and see some squiggly lines. Upon zooming in we see a route that looks like someone was scribbling on a page. How fun this would have been on the bike? Maybe when we come back.

At first there’s not a lot to look at but it doesn’t take long for things to start to open up.

Still chasing spring here at high altitude I guess. The wild flowers are blooming all over the plains.

Whew! I forgot how thin the air is at 10,000 feet. I’m winded from just bending down and standing up taking pictures of the flowers. We definitely need to stay away from any features that are going to require significant climbing. I hope the water I spilled on my shirt evaporates faster at this altitude.

Eli and Jake do not seem to mind the thin air. They are running through the fields like they are at sea level. Stinkers.

We are hiking out this fairly flat trail, and as we are coming over a rise what do we find on the other side? Snow! Yippee!

With all this sunshine and snow there is plenty of fresh, cold running water to drink. Aside from the noise the dogs make when they play, this running water is the loudest sound we hear.

Now that the dogs are a little bit tired we can continue sightseeing. I can’t wait to see the views Mother Nature has in store for us.

Montana and Wyoming have the most incredible scenery.

And let’s not forget about all the wildlife we are seeing. Obviously, deer, are everywhere, but luck is on our side and we get a glimpse or two of some marmots peeking at us.

And the crowning jewel of our trip Montana Mountain Goats! Just wow. The fresh, cold, running water Eli and Jake enjoyed is just what this herd of goats needs as well.

Remember those squiggly lines on our GPS. Here is a picture looking down on those squiggly lines.

Time to head to town for a late lunch or early supper. They have restaurants that are dog friendly so the boys won’t have to wait in the car. By the time we are done with our meal and drive back to Billings, the RV should be ready for us.

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
