John’s tried different kinds of tricks and methods to deal with his snoring and sleep apnea. So far nothing has worked.
Our family physician sent John to a Ear/Nose/Throat doctor, Dr. Banks (awesome doc by the way). He said that a UVP (basically a tonsillectomy with some other stuff thrown in) should help him tremendously. The snoring is annoying, but the sleep apnea can be life threatening so John agreed to the procedure.
The surgery went well according to Dr. Banks. He gave John plenty of pain meds and other nerve pain blockers before and after the surgery and said he should feel ok for the next 48 hours.
John says his throat does hurt a little, but he managed to eat some ice cream and pudding for supper.
He will be coming home tomorrow as long as everything goes according to plan. I have the ice cream, popsicles, soup and ice packs ready for him. We have a couple of movies too, so maybe we will get to watch them in between his naps.
