It’s been over a year since my last blog entry and a lot has happened. I won’t bore you with a recap, I’ll just start from today.
Our close friends know that our dream has been to sell our house and most of our belongings, move into an RV and travel the country working odd jobs and sightseeing along the way. For the last 5 years that is what we have been planning for and working towards. The house remodel project is 99% complete with just a few odds and ends left to finish up.
We have been slowly giving our stuff away and or selling what we feel we do not need in the RV. We have worked out a budget, and figured out how much we will need to earn per month to live, and signed up with an organization that finds RV’ers work on the road.
We have acquired memberships to all the camping organizations that we think we need to belong as well. Reading books and blogs and attending RV lifestyle seminars rounded out our education.
The new Jeep was purchased, we setup residency in South Dakota (our new home state) and the credit cards were paid off. Finally we felt we were ready to hit the road.
Just two items left to do: Buy the RV. Sell the house.
John’s timeline had us purchasing our RV in September 2012. We closed on the RV loan September 21st, my birthday. What a birthday present!!!
Since we purchased the RV from a private party it took a while for the paperwork to be processed. Saturday, October 6th we brought our baby home an parked her in the driveway. We can’t wait to move in!
Anyone looking to buy a house? We know where you can get one.
