This past weekend we stayed at our first campground. John was working a gun show at the Dullas Expo Center in Chantilly VA. We could have boondocked at the event but we really wanted to try a campground, so we stayed at the Bull Run Recreational park just outside of Chantilly.
It was a huge, and beautiful park. We were surprised at the “rualness” because of it being located in a highly populated and “city like” area. The camping sites were wooded and spaced out fairly well. During the summer when the leaves are on the trees, there is probably a better feeling of privacy too.
The park does a “Festival of Lights” at Christmas time and the park was decorated nicely. They were changing out burnt lightbulbs in preparation of the Thanksgiving opening, so every night when we drove through the park to our campsite we were greeted with a Christmas light display.
