Dallas Safari Club International Show

This is our “official” last show with EuroOptic. John is really going to miss the show circuit and I guess I am too, but we have a lot we want to see and do and the show stuff doesn’t give us a lot of time to explore areas and have fun.

Here are a couple of the cool sites I saw at the show show.

The hawks were beautiful to see. The pictures don’t do these two girls justice. They hunt rabbits and other small animals.

This wall art was breathtaking. It is made from cross sections of trees. The artisan said it takes about two years to make one. He has to obtain the wood and let it dry for a  year before he can start turning it on his lathe. Hmm, so much for just simple bowls and spindles huh?

The highlight of the show for me was getting to meet Larry Potterfield, President of Midway USA and shake his hand. He kind of reminds me of Mr. Rogers in a suit jacket.

Dani and Ansie, owners of the hunting preserve Kowas in Namibia Africa, where we hunted in 2010 when we went to Africa, are here and we got to spend an evening with them and many of their former clients. We met some great people and a couple that live outside San Antonio. We are going to look them up when we get to their area next week.

Here we are with Dani and Ansie and their two boys.

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
