What a great town for us wine lovers to start our RV lifestyle. There 3 wineries and 5 wine bars around our campground, The Vineyard Campground. It is currently rated the best RV park in America. Every site has a concrete pad, full hookups, WiFi available, the roads are all paved and most if not all sites have a view of the Grapevine Lake. We LOVE full hookup sites!
We took a tour of the town of Grapevine and found that it is the Christmas capital of Texas, and of course they had lots of Christmas displays.
The buildings and streets are very quaint, lined with unique shops, great restaurants historical sites and artwork.
Not sure what this is all about…..
The Homestead winery that we went to, is the 5th oldest structure in (Texas?? or Grapevine??) The original structure resembled the Torian Cabin picture above, but the winery added on to the house to make it work better as a winery and tasting room. It had a big front porch that I could just imagine “Ma and Pa” sitting on watching the sun set. 12 children were raised in the house and it only had two bedrooms a living room and dining room. Cooking and bathroom necessities were done outside. Brittany and Zane’s house is big in comparison.
Our next stop is San Antonio, Texas.
