San Antonio Sightseeing Day 2

Trying to be good tourist, (we are not good at the tourist thing yet) we decided to try a second day of sightseeing. So it was off to San Antonio Riverwalk area again.

We headed for the Pearl Brewery district, thinking we would get a tour of a brewery, taste some beer, grab some lunch. Well there is no brewery. The brewery moved long ago and now it is being refurbished into an art area and cuisine school. We looked around at some of the art….hmm not really our thing….and found a restaurant along the Riverwalk area that sold authentic Mexican street vendor food.

It was actually very good. We both got sandwiches and luke warm beer (yuck). It was beautiful though sitting by the river in the warm sunshine.

They had some very cool artwork outside of their building.

Next stop was the Japanese Tea Garden and the Sunken Gardens. Outside the gardens is a large structure, an old cement plant that apparently made the Sunken Gardens possible.

There isn’t much to say about the gardens except that even in winter they are beautiful. I can only imagine what they must look like in the other 3 seasons.

There is lots more to see on the Riverwalk, but we are going to be back in the area again, maybe even next winter so this is our last trip to the Riverwalk area. Nice way to end I think.

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
