Once again, we gathered some of our friends and family together in the heart of winter in an attempt to break “those winter blues”. Fortunately it was 40 degrees, sunny and just pleasant to be outside. We had a fire going in the chiminea and the deck chairs out in the sun. To see all of the pictures of the day Click here .
Crab legs were again on the menu as was Buck’s Jambalaya, Andy’s Slow Country boil, and John’s deep fried turkey and a few clams. There were lots of side dishes and tons of deserts. No one went away hungry.
Me-Me sure does enjoy crab legs so I made sure she had a plateful, with lots of butter for dipping. Andy said that he isn’t going to sit next to me any more when there are crab legs involved. I have crab and shells flying everywhere.
We had some new comers to the party this year. Buck and his wife Cindy, Karl and Kathy, and Mark. Brittany and Zane were able to make it this year as well, but John’s daughter (Tiff) was working and couldn’t attend.
Over the past year we have been really working on the dogs “social skills” when people come to the house so we took a chance and let them mingle with the guest. They were very polite this year. Sophie patiently waited for people to drop food without begging them (too much anyway) and Cooper even let people touch him.
Dad (Jerry) brought plenty of his home brewed beer and we spent the last half of the afternoon into the early evening sitting around taste testing his creations. Some were absolutely excellent.
All in all, a very nice day.
