Still At Oliver Lee

A week ago, when I last posted we were getting ready to pull out and head to Rockhound State Park. As it turns out, that was not what Fate had in store for us.

We need a new mattress for the coach. In town there was a Tempur-Pedic store that had a mattress that would work for us. But since we were leaving the next day there was no way we could swing getting it installed in time.

I tried to reserve a camp site at Rockhound but none were available during our desired time frame. We debated and decided well we could take a chance and see if they had any unreserved sites available when we got to Rockhound.

Tuesday morning around 1:00am Sophie got a bout of diarrhea all over the inside of the coach. John and I spent an hour cleaning it up the best we could but knew we would need to shampoo the carpet.

Next as we were about to pull out, we noticed liquid leaking from under the coach. After an hour of work, John fixed the leak.

Then the camp host came around and informed us there was a sand storm due to hit early afternoon, with very high winds expected.

FINE!! We will stay, but for how long. In this area spring break is a big time for the state parks. I couldn’t find anything available in the area we wanted to camp until mid-March. So here we will stay for two more weeks.

I am happy to report Sophie is feeling better, the carpet has been shampooed, John has fixed the leak and two other issues with the coach, we survived the sand storm that was UNBELIEVABLE!!! (We ended up having to pull the slides in it was so bad.) We are arranging to get our new mattress tomorrow and as far as having new backyards to go to, we are set until mid-April.

Whew!!

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
