The Quebradas, Back Country Byway is calling.
This is another scenic drive close to our campground. Quebradas, which means “breaks”, is a drive through 24 miles of rugged land east of Socorro, NM.
The landscape was varied with rolling bench lands…
box canyons and rugged ridges of alternating bands of red and yellow sandstone
Arroyos (drainage routes for water) showed unique sandstone structures carved by the rushing water from intense thunderstorms.
The red shale and dirt with black rocs is some of my favorite landscape.
We are all tired of eating dust. Time to go back to camp.
