Our time together is just about at an end. We are leaving Bosque RV park and heading to Socorro, NM to stay a couple of nights at the Walmart.
Saturday, May 4th, there is a Cinco De Mayo celebration in Socorro with live music and dancing. I feel bad for the baboon (still haven’t settled on a name yet), he got all dressed up, but wasn’t allowed to go to town with us. He looked good too!!
This festival was TOTALLY a local affair. It was fun to watch the interactions of all of the different people. Socorro is a small town where everyone knows each other. Even the town homeless man was known and greeted by name. (we know he is homeless because he is living in the empty parking lot next to the Walmart we are camping at)
Sharon and I found some great outdoor lights at a local vendor’s booth. It took us all night to figure out how to build them, but once we got the hang of it, the second one went together lickety split.
I still want to get a bucket light and turn it into our make shift campfire. With the severe drought in New Mexico no outdoor fires are allowed. I miss my campfires…..
Monday morning, May 6th Hugs and kiss were exchanged and we piled in our respective RV’s and headed on down the road, John and Sharon heading West, and John and I heading North East. We won’t meet again until late summer, back in PA.
Happy and Safe Travels!
