Day 1 at Amazon–Done

We survived our first full 10 hour day at Amazon. I’m not sure, but I can’t find any muscle in my body that doesn’t hurt. Wow! What a workout! Work campers call it the “Amazon Weight Loss and Workout Program” and they weren’t kidding! I don’t know about the weight loss thing but it was a workout.

The 10 hour day goes by pretty fast though. We are busy the whole time and between mandatory breaks and our lunch 1/2 hour breaking up the day, it didn’t seem so bad. Both John and I (and most of our fellow work campers) are exceeding Amazon’s expected goals for us two fold, so our supervisors are quite happy with us.

We don’t have a lot of time for activities on work days, but we did find time on one of our days off to take a walk.

Coffeyville has a dike system similar to Williamsport and we took a walk along the river on Monday. On the walk we found the biggest acorn we had ever seen!

The oak tree that it came from, wasn’t’ a monster tree or anything, in fact it seemed on the small side. However a mature Bur Oak tree will be somewhere around 80 feet high, with a 3 foot trunk and a crown span around 60 feet. This tree was MUCH smaller than that, but the acorns were not.

John was astounded and claimed “it’s as big as my big toe!”. Hmm. Not sure his toe is that big.

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
