I had big plans this weekend for being outside whether it was walking the dogs or working in the yard. Saturday I headed outside around 11:00. The temperature 40 degrees and climbing. Ahh….
First order of business was to cut down the flower heads that I had left standing for the winter. Next I did a survey of all the plants to see how they faired over the winter. Everything seem to do well but I have something going on with several plants and I’m going to have to get some help with that. Many have brown spots all over their leaves and some of the branches have actually died. Other than that, no losses.
There were some weeds that had grown after the last “weeding” in the fall so I thought I would pull those out. The first couple pulled right out, but the rest that I tried were still frozen in the ground. Pouty! So I tried to tidy up my Secret Garden river-stone walking path. I got that mostly done but a lot of the rocks were still frozen in the ground.
Well that ended my happy mood. I didn’t even feel like going hiking with the dogs after that, so we just took them for a walk on the dike down by the Susquehanna River Park. Britt and Zane came over for supper and I gave her the new jewelry I made for her and that cheered me up.
John has set the music channel to the Blues, our favorite Sunday entertainment. The birds and the squirrels are coming in to feed as I sit here writing. I enjoy our Sunday routine no matter what the temperature outside. 🙂 ‘s
