We have been here for almost two weeks now and our time to leave is just about upon us. The weather has been tolerable for the most part in the 60’s.
We have taken many walks down at the beautiful lake. It has 200 miles of shoreline to explore and John has been out looking for rocks. (of course)
As for me, I’ve been hoping to see an armadillo. However the only ones I manage to catch a glimpse of are the dead ones.
We celebrated the New Year with my traditional meal of sauerkraut, pork, mashed potatoes and corn. Yum.
We did venture out to one local restaurant for a late breakfast. I got a kick out of the type of advertisement on bench sign in front of the the Café. In the back of my mind I was thinking “I hope that isn’t an indications of things to come after dinning here.”.
The meal was good and all was well afterward. Whew!
Our next stop is downtown Dallas where we will be helping John’s former supervisor and friend setup for the Safari Club International show at the Dallas Convention Center. That is always a good time.
Happy New Year! Enjoy those 60s. It is three degrees here and we have a day off of school (hooray!) due to the wind chill…
Wendy, most people say the only good armadillo is a DEAD one! Sounds like you are having fun together! Let the good times Roll On! Hugs…
