I removed the frame around the TV, and pulled it out.
Then I unscrewed the support base from the header and the TV housing could be removed. I took out all of the staples holding the leather covering to this housing and set the leather covering aside.
I used Ā¼ā plywood to make a ācabinet bottomā for the hole left by the TV. I stretched the leather I had previously set aside over the plywood, stapled it down and trimmed the excess.
I used another piece of Ā¼ā plywood on the inside of the opening to create a secure bottom to my cabinet and then screwed the leather covered plywood over that.
I repurposed the framing that was around the TV originally to make a frame for a set of doors.
Attached the doors I had previously build and viola, new cabinet and storage space
What a view!!!! And most importantly, no more banging my head! And that completes our remodel!
Where is the new home for the TV?
