Our friends Phil and Sue are snowbird RV’er’s, meaning they spend the winter in the South and head back to their sticks and bricks home in Ohio just before planting season.
They had an expandable travel trailer which for casual camping is great. They are light and can be towed by lightweight vehicles such as mini-vans and are a nice alternative to the standard towable pop-ups.
However it can be cumbersome to setup and teardown when traveling long distances and you need to stay somewhere just overnight. The whole inside of the trailer has to be dis-assembled so it can fold.
On their travel between the north and south, Phil said they would stay in hotels rather than setup the camper. No “FREE” Camp Wal-mart for them.
The 6 of us Class A owners said “You need an RV!!!! And guess what?! There is one of the biggest RV shows in America going on right here in Quartzsite!!! Let’s go pick you out an RV!!!!”
Phil and Sue spent a few days looking around and when they thought they found the one they wanted we ALL went down to check it out. The sales guy was a good sport about the whole thing. He had 6 experienced RV’ers crawling (literally) all over the RV.
We found everything wrong with it we could, and gave Phil and Sue a list of things that they should include in the purchase agreement. John went with Phil and Sue on a test drive and when they came back, they were ready to deal.
Here is their new baby!!!
Happy New Owner!!
