Mike and Sherry were the first leave. They are gate guards at the oil/gas fields in Texas and needed to start heading that way. We enjoyed meeting them and had a lot of fun getting to know them, they are a great couple.
We were going to be the next to leave. John was flying back to PA to work the Harrisburg Outdoor show for EuroOptic and he wanted to get me into a Thousand Trails park before he left.
It was a cool day (as you can see from Mike and Sherry’s jackets) but it was the last day we had left for going to town. It was off to the Reader’s Oasis Book Store! The bookstore is known for its vintage books, magazines and such. So if you are looking for hard to find items, you just might find it here.
The bookstore is owned an operated by Paul Winer, a lifetime nudist, poet, musician and all around showman (he claims he was NY first exotic male dancer”). He is picture friendly according to his sign so…
As I said it was cool today so he had on a sweater and a sock covering his junk.
Anyhow, after getting over the shock of seeing a naked 70 something man, we learned that Paul is a very insightful guy and a musician who is resurrecting his career. He is a great conversationalist and we enjoyed talking with Paul and learning about his life. You could almost forget that he wasn’t wearing pants….almost.
Here are some links to You Tube videos of Paul playing the piano in his store:
So if you ever get to Quartzsite AZ, plan on spending some time at the Reader’s Oasis book store and chatting with Paul!
