Saturday was a busy day: Rock and Gem show in the morning and winery hoppin’ in the evening.
John found some Mexico lace agate (I love that stuff) and he bought some lapidary supplies. Me, I found stuff for Riesa at a stand run by Sydney, a very nice young lady who is just breaking into the show circuit. She makes her own rubber band jewelry, and she also designed her own business cards. ADORABLE!!!!! I told her about Riesa and she helped me pick out a couple of things for her. Did I mention how ADORABLE she was???!!
In the evening we made our way into Old Cottonwood for some live music and wine tasting. We only made it to two wineries. The first was Fire Mountain Winery
where we listened to Jason Kevin for a while. We liked his style and sound as well as his original songs.
Fire Mountain had some nice wines and great artwork displayed throughout.
Jason wrapped up around 6pm so we meandered over to the Pillsbury Wine Company.
Not affiliated with the Doughboy though, we looked everywhere for him. They also had some impressive artwork.
By now we have had several samplings and purchased several glasses of wine. John is more of a beer drinker while I’m more of a wine drinker. Needless to say, John was getting a little “happy”.
Rachel Mari Kimber was the musician scheduled to play at Pillsbury.
She was good, she kinda reminded me of Dar Williams. John really liked her playing, check it out, here is a short sample
For those of you who know that I shop when I have had to much to drink…and how John likes to tease me….well just let me say, after too much wine he was in quite the generous mood. I got myself 2 bottles of moderately expensive wine, and John bought one of Rachel’s CD’s.
No more picking on me for “Drunk Shopping”. I drove home.
