Everyone is busy getting the campground ready for the season, which officially starts Memorial day weekend. Our area is looking pretty good except for the volleyball court area.

So we got our picks and hoes…

Our hammers…..

Our rakes….

and my personal favorite, the machete! Watch out! Never approach a red head wielding a machete.

When we sold our house and hit the road, I was worried I would miss gardening. Well I think I’m going to get my fill of pulling weeds, trimming bushes and all that other “gardening” stuff.

I may not have a “secret garden” any more but Anderson Cove is full of birds, and they are busy at all my feeders.

So far I have black headed grosbeaks

Two types of hummers, black throat (pictured below) and broad tails.

Pretty little black-capped chickadees.

A finch or two every now and again.

Comical magpies who carry off chip bags, loaves of bread and graham cracker packets from unsuspecting campers. They are about the size of Crows. They are BIG birds.

But everyone’s favorite is the Great Horned Owl family. A mama and two babies. We are looking forward to watching them grow up over the summer.
