After two weeks of being sick, between the two of us, we are finally feeling better and just in time for a beautiful weekend. We took the dogs for a 2-3 mile, and were they ever happy to finally be out..

We met a woman we haven’t seen in a while. Her daughter and Brittany used to cheer together. She is a GSD owner as well, so she was especially appreciative of Cooper. However she thought Sophie was a Bassett Hound….hmm.

At the turn around point in our walk we stopped and sat by the river for a while to rest. A toothless fellow happened upon us, heading to the river to fish. He was fretting over the fact that he didn’t have bait and was going to have to dig for worms. We bid him good day and headed back to the jeep.

Here is a picture of a spring flower we came across while walking by the river. It is a Trout Lilly (common name Dogtooth Violet, based on the shape of the bulb) and as it turns out is North America’s most common spring wildflowers. Look for it rich woods and meadows. It gets its name from the leaves that resemble the mottling color of a brook trout. (there is a nice piece of trivia for ya!)

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
