After 4 months working as camphosts, it feels good to be tourists again. Leaving Huntsville, UT we headed north on what we hoped was going to be a scenic trip and we weren’t disappointed.
Shortly after entering Wyoming and before reaching the Grand Teton National Park we saw signs of fall. Beautiful red, yellow and orange colored trees dotted (and I do mean “dotted”) the hillsides along the highway.
Soon we entered the Tetons and found a scenic pull-off to have our lunch.
The Teton mountains were beautiful and we learned a little something about the glaciers; they are shrinking. Shrinking Glaciers???!!!??? My goodness, Al Gore was right!!! Global warming IS effecting the glaciers and polar ice caps! (** wink wink **)
Here, front and center you can see the Teton Glacier. Hmm…I thought it would look different some how. Maybe bigger? (ha ha ha ha)
Anyhow. Our adventure didn’t really start until we got into Yellowstone and to Grant Village Campground and got a look at our campsite.
Talk about a tight squeeze.
Our neighbors, Bob and Janet, were very impressed with our coordination, hand signals and patience getting the coach positioned between the trees just so; managing to get all 3 slides out AND be able to open our front door.
Whew! I hope the rest of our “touristing” isn’t as challenging.
