OMG!!!! I feel like someone beat my legs with a stick! Un-freakin’-believable how much this hurts!!! John said he feels about the same. We are SO out of shape. I don’t want to take one step today. Definitely no hikes today. Elephant Back trail kicked our butts!!!
We will be moving to a different campground tomorrow so we want to finish up sightseeing in the southern end of the park.
On our drive into the park there was so much amazing scenery but we were in the RV so looking around isn’t allowed.
So, what is the first thing we do???? Take a short walk down and up a steep trail so we could see Moose Falls.
I mean seriously what is wrong with us. How many waterfalls on the east coast have we seen, like a bazillion or something. Did we really need to torture ourselves this way? We didn’t even see a moose!
Ok the view was great of both the waterfall and the river.
The rest of the drive up South Entrance Road we just stopped at pull offs along the way to look at the river as it wound its way through Lewis Canyon. No major walks. Whew.
At the bottom of the valley we had a spectacular view of the river as it continued down the canyon. It was so quiet. Peaceful. The water looked so inviting.
All along this stretch of river and others very much like it, are fly fisherman. It was the first time I wished I knew how to to fly fish. I was dying just to stand out there in the cool water.
Oh and guess what was on the other side of the road, requiring no hiking at all….a waterfall.
I’m hungry. Time for lunch.
Come visit us next summer in Colorado and I’ll teach you how to fly fish……
looks beautiful enjoy enjoy
