Day 5–Artist Paint Pots

Burrrr!!! It is chilly this morning. We’ve gone from wearing t-shirts and short to jackets and long pants overnight. The thunderstorms that rolled through yesterday and last night brought in a temperature change for sure!

As we approached the Artist Paint pot area the steam coming off of the hot springs made for an eerie but surreal picture. Maybe a little bit of cold weather will be okay.

It seems that each feature we visit is more impressive than the last. The Artist Paint pots are a collection of hot springs, geysers and mud pots.

The colors from the rainbow are all present.

Even the root balls of downed trees in the area are artistic looking.

From the lookout above, the area kinda looks like an artist’s palette.

OK, I’m cold. Time to head back to the jeep!!! It’s down there somewhere.

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
