I wanted to see a moose SO bad when we were in Yellowstone. We saw Elk, coyote, Eagles, but no bear and no Moose.
Buffalo / Bison were everywhere. We had to stop and wait for these guys on our way out of Yellowstone.
We stopped one last time to admire the mountains, knowing we were heading into the Great Plains area of the country.
We made an overnight stop at the Walmart in Cody, Wyoming, the town that Buffalo Bill helped establish in 1895. According to propaganda around town, in 1897 Buffalo Bill was considered the Sexiest Man / Most Interesting Man in the world….hmm
Anyhoo….In 1902 he built the Irma Hotel, named after his daughter, which he claimed was “just the sweetest hotel that ever was”.
We stopped by the hotel to have a beer at the famous cherry wood bar that was sent to Buffalo Bill, from Europe, by the Queen of England.
It was massive, ornate and just gosh darn beautiful. Checkout the cash register.
After a good night sleep we were on the road again, heading for Boulder Campground in the Big Horn National Forest. We took the “Sweet 16” scenic route and it did not disappoint. We had views like this the whole drive.
Yeah. Nice.
We got parked in our campsite at Boulder…
went for a drive to check out the rest of the campgrounds in the area and guess what we saw…MOOSE!!! There was a small bachelor band
and there were two females that were hanging out in the shadows at our campground.
Finally.
