John has found the part we need to fix the RV so now all we have to do is wait for it to arrive. We have moved to BLM land just outside of Miles City, MT.
We love BLM land. There is no one around, generally, and it is peaceful day and night. At night, since you are usually so far away from the city lights, the sky is brilliant with stars.
John was hoping to get in some prairie dog shooting but as it turned out, the place he was going to go was empty of dogs. A local said that someone had poisoned the town some time back.
With all of the cattle we saw wandering around, we figured it was probably a rancher who lost one too many cattle from broken legs. Can’t blame him for that. John did find a good rockhounding spot so he was content.
On Sunday, we went into Glendive and while I was doing laundry he went to a gun show. (It kinda made up for the no prairie dog thing.)
While I was doing my wash, Rob and Cindy Stibb, surprised me. We worked with them at Amazon last year. I thought they were still in Alaska. It was a fun reunion. They will not be working at the same location as John an I but hey what can ya do.
Eventually after about 4 days the part he ordered arrived and he got busy changing the part.
The previous owner said you could just crawl right up in the engine to work on it. Well, he is a bit smaller than John. He scooted and wiggled and finally got him self wedged into the engine compartment.
Once he was in, changing the part was straight-forward.
He wiggled and scooted to get back out and….yuck. I will be throwing those close away for sure!
Tomorrow we will be heading for Sidney MT for our orientation for the beet harvest and then on to Culbertson to our new home for the next couple of months.
