Our Ride to Hot Springs, Arkansas

Between leaving Deadwood SD and arriving in Hot Springs we made several short stops. Kadoka SD is always a must when we are in the state. The people that run the Kadoka Kampground and RV Park where we like to stay are always friendly and welcoming.

They set John up with some prime prairie dog hunting spots and I didn’t see him for 2 days!

After that it was a quick stop in Sioux Falls SD to grab our mail and meet up with our new friends Mike and Mo for a pizza and some beers.

For the next few days we traveled between free camping spots, Camp Walmarts, and  Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops. During our last Camp Walmart stop John investigated a rattling noise that he heard coming from the front passenger side wheel well.

Turns out, a sway bar connector (basically it makes sure that both front tires mirror each other’s movement) was broken. A quick call to John’s friend Pat and he offered a temporary fix until we could get a replacement part.

John bought a heavy duty muffler clamp and put it over the broken sway bar clamp. Holy cow did that ever make a difference in the steering!!! The clamp must have been broken since the day we bought the coach.

Good thing John got it figured out too. We took a scenic route into Hot Springs, Route 7 I believe. For 150 miles we listened to the GPS exclaim:

Winding road ahead

Left curve ahead

Right curve ahead

Sharp curve ahead

Guess whose turn it was to drive when we got to this section?  Mine.

John drank beer and tried not to look.

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
