John’s father Roger and his traveling companion Joan arrived late this morning and were ready to take advantage of the warm whether. Having come from Dubois in Pennsylvania, they were ready for some sunshine pick me up. His travel trailer was snowed in so they hopped in Joan’s car and headed south to visit family.
We took them to downtown Hendersonville for a stroll through Main Street and some food at an Irish restaurant.
The streets of Hendersonville were blooming. Me, Joan and a store merchant were debating over what kind of flowering tree this is. We decided it must be a yellow magnolia.
Any of my horticulture friends, let me know, are we right?
We were good with the rest of the flowers in town.
While at Hanna’s restaurant (the prime rib was FABULOUS!!!! by the way) our waitress suggested a couple of wineries.
Turns out….Joan is a W.I.N.O too! So we were off to Burnt Shirt and St Paul’s. We ended up spending most of our time and money at St Paul’s. Cool yard art.
We sat out back on their patio and drank a glass or two before moving on to supper. John’s dad and Joan are pretty funny when they get too much to drink. Yep we drank two 70’somethings under the table…not a proud moment but hey.
