Beer, Beer and more Beer!!! We were lucky enough to be in North Carolina when the World Beer Festival was being held in Raleigh.

Unfortunately we couldn’t get tickets for the afternoon session so we had to attend the evening session. I say unfortunately because there wasn’t a babysitter available for Liam and Ryan. Julia offered to stay home with the kiddos so John and I could go with Brad. I can’t thank her enough for that gesture, she knows why.

I wanted to make sure I got pictures of the guys early on. There were 250 brews for them to try and though I knew they couldn’t do them all, I was sure they were going to hit their fair share.

I can see why they broke the event up into sessions, there were a ton of people. This is one small part. The event was big and there was this many people or more all over the event.

Like wine tastings and wine festivals, it is great to be able to take the time to talk with the vendors. Brad and John took time to chat with the brewers and get their opinions and stories about the different beers. It makes for a better tasting experience I think.

I was the designated driver so I didn’t taste very many beers and slowly sipped the ones I did choose to try. In the Belgium Beer tent we came across a fabulous beer. Smooth, creamy, awesome flavor, no bitter after taste….it didn’t last long enough in my little 2oz glass. We can’t remember the brewer or the name of the beer and we all have a different guess. Hmmm.

There was a brewer that really spoke to John. Can you guess why?

So the night went on…..The guys got silly.

And by the end their sentiment was the same. I couldn’t believe it!

I had a great time and really appreciated the time I got to spend with my son.

  1. Wow, the World Beer Festival was huge! I would hate not being able to try everything I wanted, but I know what the ending of that sad story would be.You are probably on your way back now. Let us know when you want to try some Pennsylvania beers. If you’ll be up here at the end of June for the Heart concert, there is a “meeting” for volunteers on April 26 at 2, but you know the meeting is just an excuse to drink wine…See you soon!

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
