It is Farewell Time

It is always a bittersweet for us when it is time to leave a location where we have spent a lot of time. (OK a whole 3 months may not seem like a long time to you, but to fulltimers it does)

We many times fall in love with an area and learn to appreciate not only its spectacularness (is that a word?) but its quirky side too.

Like the local homeless guy (we think) that we had seen all over the place. He plays a ukulele and works odd jobs to make some money.

EVERYONE takes pictures of his ride.

For us however, it is the great people that we meet and work with, whom we call “friend” by the end of our stay that makes each new place we go special.

Workamping gives a better opportunity to connect with other campers, and a reason to make friends. Here is Kat and Laurel out reviewing campsites for a rig coming in. They are both crazy!

Every Tuesday night (since it has been warm enough I guess) a group of campers meet at Laurel and Audrey’s “house” for pot luck dinners, good conversation and a campfire. I just adore Audrey and Laurel. They are so fun to be around and Laurel keeps everyone laughing.

On our last Tuesday night at the park they threw us a party. We tried our hand at beer pong, which we really sucked at, unlike when we were in college. I just didn’t remember it being so hard!!!!

Though John and I didn’t get to try playing, two other couples tried their hand at a game of corn hole. Here they are, Rebecca and her husband Jamie, and Terry and her husband Frank doing their best to get that big bean bag in the little hole. Not sure this game is any easier than beer pong.

Other regulars to the Tuesday night shindig were Desiree and her husband Mark. (I think, for the life of me I can’t remember his name but he works at Camping World) Karl joined us for our farewell party too. I like to think of Karl as Mr. Santa Clause.

We are going to miss everyone a lot, but it is never good bye. All our houses have wheels so there is always the possibility we will see each other down the road.

Our life philosophy or mission is to try and leave every place a little better for us having been there, and the people we meet glad to have met us, some even let us call them friends.

See Ya On Down The Road, ya’ll.

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
