Living Room Construction Update

Kitchen Wall

Boy, things are happening fast at the house. I almost can’t keep up!

I came home today to find the stove moved back into place, a shelf mounted over the stove, and the toaster oven and accessories hanging over the stove. All of the cast iron pots were hung up around the stove area too and the light switch for the basement was moved from the kitchen wall to inside the stairwell to the basement.

Now this might not sound like much but there was a lot of behind the scenes stuff that had to be done. Electric had to be run up to the stove area. The gas line for the stove had to be moved to the new location. This meant that the lines had to be “drained” of all gas, repiped, pressurized with air and all of the fittings checked. When everything checkout, then the gas could be turned back on.

John is using his time very wisely. He also said that he wants to go slower on the house so he doesn’t feel so sore and tired by the end of the day too. So fare he has been doing a little bit each day and he is feeling better. I’m a little worried though. We are both anxious now to remove the wall between the kitchen and the living room. I just don’t want him trying to do this by himself.

I think he is going to be gathering the help soon.

Chat me up peeps! We love to hear from you.
