I woke up around 1:30am this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep, so I decided to start working on the revamp of our blog and web site.
Originally, my plan was to put static info on the website and our journal type “stuff” on the blog. Well I found that blogging is so much quicker than web page design/editing (only for pages with a simple design though) that I decided to move as much from our web site as I could to our blog.
Everything was going spectacularly…until
As I explain to my users at work, most people can really mess up a computer but it takes an IT professional to really f%$#! things up. Well that is exactly what I did.
It was so bad I couldn’t even get into our blog from what us IT geeks call the “backdoor”. I ended up going through the “basement” door to get to the blog settings.
During my attempt to restore the bad things and what I did to gain access to the blog again, I ended up wiping out EVERYTHING that I had done for the last two weeks. EVERYTHING!! In total that amounted to several days of work….just GONE!
Luckily most of what I had been working on already existed on our web page so I haven’t had to re-write everything. Heck, It even looks better than it did origonally. 6 more items to fix and all will be well. Whew!
So, please be patient with me as I try and put things back together.
