We are on the road again heading from Daleville, Alabama back to Dallas, TX where John will spend one day unloading the helicopters BSC just disassembled.
Traveling west in the late afternoon on a bright sunny day is uncomfortable and dangerous too, everyone is having trouble seeing around the sun. Around 3:30 p.m. we start looking for a place to stay. Our normal overnight spot is usually a Walmart, however, John reminded me that today is the last Saturday before Christmas. Yeah, Walmart may not be a good choice.
Luckily we were passing by the Natchez Trace in Mississippi and John whipped off the highway, literally. I hate it when he does that with the coach. The section we entered isn’t close to any of the campgrounds along the Trace so we opted for a picnic area.
How fitting that the first one suitable for our rig is Deans Stand? The Deans supplemented their farm income by offering lodging to travelers.
We have a great front yard, no neighbors, no overhead lights, and pretty much non-existent traffic.
Our backyard and first glance is pretty nice with a picnic table, bridge and a stream.
Upon further exploration we find that we are not the only ones enjoying the solitude of this place.
Apparently we have neighbors after all, the Herod’s. Hopefully they are not a noisy bunch. We need our sleep as we have 400 miles to travel tomorrow, to get to Dallas TX.
I’m getting excited, only 3 more days until we fly home for Christmas!!!
Miss you two have a great holiday wherever you are……Jim and Becky
