Lets take a walk together.
As in most towns, there is the old part of town and the new part. The buildings in the new growth area of Dusseldorf are as impressive as any modern building in any modern city. The shopping district is mostly all new buildings combining lots of glass, concrete, lights, metal and natural elements.
With canals, bridges, walkways and parks with wildlife.
Black swans, cool, and these guys sing too!
But I am obsessed with walking the streets of the old town. I love the architecture of the many old churches, most Catholic churches.
The old buildings are everywhere, obviously, this is City Hall in Marktplatz.
Not sure what most of the buildings are, though.
I love looking at the cobble streets but it is rough on your feet, ankles and legs walking on them.
I’m amazed at how narrow some of the driving streets are too!
And bicycles everywhere.
In the Carl Platz, there is a market that reminds me of a version of the Lewisburg Farmers Market but this one goes on everyday. There are flower stands and crafts.
Produce items and meat distributors and prepared food stands.
I think I’ll grab some lunch and see what else I can find.
