Our friends John and Sharon, who we met through search and rescue and were also fulltime RV’ers have “hung up” their keys and settled in the great little community of Sebring, Florida. They bought a park model home right on the lake complete with a pontoon boat, in the Peace River Campground.
We have stopped in for a visit to see how the other half lives, fully-retired RV’ers, and find that it is a pretty sweet gig. John spends his day tinkering around the house, playing his guitar, reading, napping, eating, and hanging out with the guys.
Sharon is keeping me quite busy with all of her activities like, the girl’s afternoon get together for wine, snacks and gossip. I skipped bingo night, but a trip to the gulf coast and some beach time is very relaxing. The sun is warm but that water is chilly!
Sharon and I get back from the beach and the two John’s have some delicious slow cooked bar-b-que ribs ready to eat. Their talents know no bounds.
John and Sharon, and I are big readers and we spend time sharing information about books we’ve read, authors we like, and recommending to each other. John is reading a great book that he thinks I’ll like. Have to check this one out when I get some downtime.
I can see why Sharon loves their new non-RV life. Great people, lots to do and AMAZING sunsets.
Unfortunately, we have not seen Sharon’s “pet” alligator, and we are leaving in the morning.
