The next stop on our journey is on the East Coast side of Florida, at Blueberry Hill, in Bushnell, Florida.
Here we are meeting John’s dad Roger and his partner Joan who spend their winters in sunny Florida.
We haven’t been to this part of Florida before so Roger and Joan take us on a little tour of their life. First stop, supper at Beef O’Brady’s. The food is quite good and my hamburger and fries are perfect.
After that we take a ride through Bushnell’s National Cemetery.
The grounds are beautifully kept and the area is quiet and peaceful. It is a little chilly today, but we take time to wander through and read some of the headstones. I’m proud to see so many people who loved our country and served as their way to honor it and sad to see so many who died in defense of Her, but I am forever grateful to them all.
To wrap up our day, we stop in at Roger and Joan’s favorite watering hole, the local VFW.
Well, rested and ready to go we are heading for the Swap-o-Rama! It is huge and there is anything and everything you can think of can probably be found here. I never buy much but John always seems to find a tool or two. Ever see the show about flea market finds, the one where teams are given money to go to a flea market, buy an item, repurpose it and then sell it? Well, that is how I entertain myself at these markets.
Last but not least, its Bingo time!!!
We didn’t win anything but had a good time hanging out with Roger and Joan.
Soon our vacation is going to be over and a good thing too, we are getting exhausted!
