A 12-mile desert drive just east of Quartzsite. Moderate trail (2.5) with a variety of terrain. Steep hills, twists and turns, narrow washes and rock crawls. At the spring you can find petroglyphs, stone cabin ruins and an active mine. There is a network of roads through the desert in this area. Watch for trail marker 0065F.
A 7-mile, not so scenic drive across harsh-looking terrain. The trail is Easy (1.0). There are several structures of interest including the mine itself, a water reservoir and a stamp mill.
